Big Sugar and Spice and Carcinogens Nice, What Our Waterways Are Made Of…

download (6)As if Florida does not have enough problems with it’s waterways (big sugar), Tuesday The Environmental Regulation Commission voted 3-2 to approve a proposal drafted by state regulators that would impose new standards on 39 chemicals not currently regulated by the state, and revise the regulations on 43 other toxins, most of which are carcinogens.

And while Florida regulators voted to approve new water quality standards Tuesday that will increase the amount of cancer-causing toxins allowed in Florida’s rivers and streams under a plan that the state says will protect more Floridians than the current standards do, environmentalist warn that the new standard would allow polluters to dump dangerous amounts of chemicals in high concentrations into Florida waters before they trigger the limits of the new rule, and let Florida adhere to standards that are weaker than federal guidelines.

Regardless of what anyone says, if you live in Florida, you know we have serious reason for concern. Buying bottled water may seem like your only option for safe water consumption but the reality is bottled water is no safer for you than it is for the environment. The reality is the federal government does not require bottled water to be safer than tap.  Yet, we pay 300% more for it daily. There is a better option. One that offers not only the world’s purest water but it also comes with a really cool touch screen faucet that deliver the world’s purest instant boiling, instant chilled and instant sparkling, yes you read that right, sparkling water.
